As a senior communications strategist, companies rely on Leslie for her ability to bring experience, judgment, candor, and kindness to the work. Whether it’s working through complex executive and staff changes or developing an executive thought leader strategy, whether it’s leading a team in the short term, creating content that resonates or helping with internal events and touchpoints, Leslie has the proven ability to jump in and deliver needle-moving results.

With more than two decades of leadership in internal and executive communication, social media, marketing and media relations, she enjoys forging long-term relationships with clients based on mutual respect, energetic collaboration, humor, and genuine appreciation. Her client roster has included companies such as Lockheed Martin, Upwork, Genentech, Roche, LinkedIn, Heineken, Skyscanner, Midi Health, Costanoa Ventures, CoderPad, and many more.

Before founding Grace Strategy Group, Leslie was in-house at a variety of companies, from a venture-backed start-up to a Silicon Valley mainstay and a Fortune 500 defense leader. Career highlights include:

  • Leading internal communications for a 15,000-person global division of Lockheed Martin, where she devised and executed innovative programs (including the first intranet for this unit), handled change management for a critical acquisition, and took point on multiple employee communications crises, most notably the 2010 Haiti earthquake which affected 50 employees and subcontractors.

  • Spearheading external marketing and media campaigns for high-profile contracts within Lockheed Martin, including the winning bid for a $1B Federal Bureau of Investigation biometrics contract, and issues management for the Transportation Worker Identification Credential program, a Department of Homeland Security initiative.

  • Leading public relations for LinkedIn’s technology innovations related to content, profile, and network features – and co-led the twice-monthly All Hands, which was one of the company’s most highly rated employee communications vehicles.

  • Building the first-ever executive communications and media relations program for Reputation.com’s CEO and founder, successfully leading the company through communications surrounding a data breach, and launched two major office openings.

Leslie loves living in the Pacific Northwest with her beloved family and – in her free time – is a passionate reader, cook and painter (though, it must be said of the latter, not a good one…yet!). She holds an MA in Communication from the University of Maryland and a BA in International Relations from Michigan State University.
